Hello Everyone!
I can't tell you how happy I am to be back here after the last week's absence. I am sorry to everyone for my being gone, but a family thing happened that I had to take care of and I hope everyone understands how things can sometimes go. All of that aside though, it's a pleasure to be back at the helm here and focused on other less emotional stuffs. Anyhow, there is alot to go over here, and I'll try to be as succinct as possible for everyone, so bear with me if you can! First things first, the problems that have arisen in my absence are all being investigated and I sincerely hope that we have a good handle on things again here in the very near future. For now, here are some things to try for different problems I've heard about since my return: Patcher Error If you get an error while updating, which stops you from being able to complete the update and actually play, then try this: 1) Download CCleaner from the following web address:
Just use the link in the top right and download/install this program, then use the Cleaner function to scan and then fix any problems existing on the machine. To properly finish this process you will need to have internet browsers closed.
2) Restart your machine completely
3) Turn off your antivirus program and launch the game, letting it update.
Disconnection Errors If you are getting dc'd often, it appears that one of our recent updates might be in conflict with AVG, Avast!, and Norton antivirus systems (those are the most common, but also Comodo and others have been reported but not verified yet). So give a shot to simply disabling your antivirus or, if possible, replacing your current software completely with Microsoft Security Essentials which is free and very capable. It also has the benefit of not conflicting with game files or GameGuard. If that does not help, then try to update your graphics drivers to their most recent versions. The method of doing this will depend on the vendor your card is from and etc, but here are some basic links to the most common video card manufacturers ATI/AMD - http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Nvidia - http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Intel Integrated - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/ In all cases, make sure to pick your correct OS version and etc to ensure that you will be updating the proper drivers for your machine. If in doubt, you can always visit http://www.piriform.com/speccy to download the Speccy program that helps you find out what hardware is actually in your computer (such as ATI, Nvidia, integrated, etc card version). This is a free program and is very handy from time to time when specific hardware or version info is needed by tech support folks and etc. If neither the antivirus or video card sections above help you at all, please use http://www.speedtest.net to run a test to San Jose, CA USA servers and send me a DQA with the data from that test. I'd need the Down/Up speeds as well as any ping information. Ideally you will need a 1.5mbps or better downstream and 0.75 or better upstream amount with ping lower than 300 to play the game without any jitter or lag, anything less than that amount might cause issues, especially when flying rooms with more than 2 players in them or on process-intensive maps such as ones with city scapes or many ground targets firing continually. Just fyi. Cannot Login/Login Freeze/-13 Certify Error
This is because your account was inactive for a long time. Please follow these steps and verify your account so you can login normally again to the actual game servers and not only the website:
1) Copy this link to access the account verification web page for Heroes In The Sky
http://www.gamescampus.com/account/signingverificationgame/?game=heroesinthesky
2) Log OUT of the website <-----VERY IMPORTANT
3) Paste the link into your browser
3) Verify your Login ID, Password, and Email address the account has attached to it
Once you finish these steps you should be able to login normally again
So that's what I've got so far for the issues being experienced. Again, we're working on our side also to source and kill these problems too, but it's always worth a shot to try the things above to see if they help at all! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns via the DQA board! Thanks -[GM]Frosty |
